My family always told me that we had creek indians in our past from what i understand they lived in the georgia area. You may want to try to get hold of some tribal records and see if that helps. On another note I found a copy of our family crest and it exactly matched the McSweeney family crest from Donegal in Ireland. Does anyone have any info on this Irish connection? My dad said our name was Dutch and in the 16th & 17th centuries tons of Irish Catholics left the country for europe and America. It seems perfectly plausible that the family would have changed it's name to fit the protestant surroundings. If anyone knows let me know
