I think I didn't explain it very clearly. The first Welker that I have in Meckesheim, Germany is Hans Welker. He was married to Margaretha UNKOWN.They had the following children:
Hans Konrad WELKER, b. 1653, d. 1731, m. 1698 to Maria Ursula MOGEL
Han WELKER b. 1661, d. 1728, m. 1691 to Margaretha Kirsch, a widow
*Hans Martin WELKER, b. 1665, d. 1734, m. 1695 to Anna Margaritha FABIAN
Susanna WELKER, b. 1668, m. 1691 to Philip ZIMMERMAN
Hans Georg WELKER, b. 1667, d. 1746, m. 1701 to Anna Katherina BEITELSACK
*Hans Martin WELKER was born 6 June 1665 and died 12 June 1734.He married Anna Margaritha FABIAN 12 July 1695.Their children were as follows:
**Johan Georg WELKER, b. 10 Feb. 1697, d. 8 Mar. 1782 in PA, m. 1st 1721 to Anna Maria FABIAN, 2nd Anna Margaretha ZIMMERMAN
Johan Valentin WELKER b. 1698, d. 1780, m. 1729 Maria Margaretha FABIAN
Anna Margaretha WELKER, b. 1701, m. 1730 Hans Wolfgang KOLB
Daniel WELKER b. 1706, d. 1778, m. 1730 Anna Barbara MUELLER
**Johan Georg WELKER was born 10 Feb. 1697 and her died 8 March 1782 in PA.He first married Anna Maria FABIAN 18 Feb. 1721.After her death he married Anna Margaretha ZIMMERMAN 9 June 1772.I don't believe he had any children with his first wife.He and his 2nd wife emigrated to America in 1727 on the ship "William & Sarah".Their children were as follows:
***Maria Susanna WELCKER b. Aug 1731 in Montgomery Co., PA, d. March 1795, m. Rev. Benedict SWOPE
Johannes WELCKER b. 30 Aug. 1731 in Montgomer Co., PA
Johan Jakob WELCKER b. 6 April 1746 in Montgomery Co., PA
As you can see, there is more work to be done. Most of this information came from the Ancestor Chart given to me by a descedant WELKER in Meckesheim, Germany. My husband & I were stationed in Germany during his 20 years in the Air Force and this chart was given to us when we went to Meckesheim to research the WELKER family. As I said, my mother-in-la's maiden name was WELKER and we were researching the name.We had the name of the town from the obituary of her grandfather, Valentine WELKER.She is descended from Hans Martin WELKER and Anna Margaretha FABIAN's son Daniel WELKER who married Anna Barbara MUELLER.However, it was her grandfather, Valentine WELKER who came to the US in the 1880s.
Johan Georg WELKER was not on this chart.Either he was cut off the chart when we copied it or it was so long ago and he had gone to America that they did not include him. When I was in SLC several years ago, I checked to see if Johan Georg WELKER was one of the WELKERs from Meckesheim and I found his christening in the Evangalische Church Records in Meckesheim. It lists his parents as Johan Martin WELKER and his wife Anna Margaretha. The sponsors were FABIANs.
All of the records are in Meckesheim except for Johan Georg and his wife who died in PA.I don't know if they had any children before they left Germany or not. That is something that I need to check. When I go to SLC in March, I plan to work on German records so will access the Meckesheim records.I set out to find Johan Georg's parentage because I thought it would be funny if my father-in-law and mother-in-law were related.
I will be in SLC March 14-22, 2010.I should have more information after that so you can contact me them. Also, if you would like a copy of the birth record, let me know. You can reach me at [email protected].
