Thank you for your response to my inquiry about the Sykes family. After you pointed out a different birth date for Samuel Bliss I had to pull out my information on the Bliss family and found that I had posted my original inquiry in error. From the "Genealogy of the Bliss Family in America" I see that Thomas , of Belstone parish, Devonshire, England, of Braintree, Mass., and afterwards of Hartford, Conn., was a son of the first Thomas Bliss and was born about the year 1580 or 1585. He married in England about 1612-15, to Margaret Lawrence (rather than Hulin) and that their son Samuel was born in England in 1624. The Samuel you refer to was indeed born in 1637 but he was the son of Thomas Bliss of Hartford, Saybrook, and Norwich, Conn. (son of Thomas and Margaret Bliss) and Elizabeth_____.

The "Bliss Family" information I have was printed in 1881 so there could certainly be some corrections or additional information found since then.
