Mr. W. Sykes
Not sure I can help you...but I have been told that my Joseph Sykes (1812) was born to Joseph Sykes & Hannah Sykes (born approx. 1790's). I've also been told he had a sibling named Hennery (b1815) at Slaithwaite Hall. This would've made Hennery only 15 in the year 1830 when your relative was born...doubtful then that he is father to your James/Will. that you are looking for. I know nothing more about Joseph or Hennery. I also don't have any information on any of Joseph Sykes' (b1812) other children ( all born 1836-56) except my GG Grandfather Abraham Sykes b. 1840. He later moved to Ashton under Lynne married and then moved to the USA.
His father Joseph Sykes (1812) had 2 other sibs. - Ginney (1805) & Ann (1817) - I don't know if he had any other brothers other than Hennery born after 1818 or cousins named William or James b. approx. 1830 but it is likely.
I wish I knew more or could find someone who did...
Good luck with your search! If you have any other questions please feel free to ask... also if you find out anything more... even if not related, I'd love to hear about it. -M.Martin
