Abner Davis Sykes and Caroline in Monroe Co. MS

Looking for information on the wife of Abner D. Sykes, Caroline E. or Caroline C. They are listed in the Greene County Alabama 1840 census, then Pickens Co. Alabama census. The family settled in the Monroe County MS area of Grubb Springs. Abner was the son of John Sikes and Nancy ?. Abner served in the 20 th MS Infantry in the civil war. He died about 1892. Caroline is still alive in 1900 living in the household of her youngest son Augustus A. Sykes. Caroline and Abner had these children: Thomas Sykes ( born 1857) married to Emma Winders,, James Robert (born 1855) married to Frances Ophelia Smith, Nancy (born about 1853), Samuel Issac(born 1852),John W. "Dock"(1850). Abner and Caroline were probably married in Alabama, but I can find no marriage record.
