I traced my Sykes line back to John Sykes, Louis (son) born 1793 who married Ellen Sykes and lived in North Carolina in 1880 U.S. census. I believe that Miles Sykes (182 - 1915) is their son.

Additional information:
Miles was from South Carolina and Patricia (I don't know her maiden name) was from Georgia. Their children were Mary, Thomas, and Benjamin (my great grandfather). My great grandfather Benjamin Sykes married Emma Holoman (or Holloman). They lived in Oconeechee, Northampton County, North Carolina.
Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.
