Cattaraugus caught my eye, since many of my relatives were from the area.I found a Levi Sikes in "Hist. of Catt. Co."by Ellis, 1879, who is indicated as arriving in Leon about 1821 but did not stay because of the hardships. Capt. John Fairbanks came 1819--1820. "Springfield Families"vol V, Thomas B> Warren, shows Levi Sikes,b. 20 aug. 1772,baptised at Longmeadow,Hanpden Co. Mass. Son of Othniel Sikes and Zeubah Sikes. I think you can see connection of Sikes, Fairbanks, etc. Do you have info on parents of the William H.Wells that married Sarah Fairbank in Leon?My line in Leon starts in early 1830s with James, then farm continued by Chanpion and then my dad James till 1916 or so.I think Sikes became Sykes. Theophilus Fairbanks was from Vermont.Good luck. James M. Wells
