27 Jan 1685/86 Westmoreland Co Order Book, 1675/76-1688/89, Part Four, p 67 -abstracted records by John Frederick Dorman: Rice Williams as marrying the relict of Jo: Hadnuts vs. John Symson executor of Hadnut. Complaint being made by the plaintiffs that there was some cattle which was Hadnutt's estate was not brought to appraizement (to witt) three cowes and an yearling, the Court adjudge the cattle to belong to Hadnutt's estate and doe order that the same be appraised.
(In Feb or Mar 1686 at Court, Order Book, Part 5, p 3, the Court determined that the cowes and calf properly belonged to Elizabeth Hadnutt, daughter of her father John Hadnutt, deceased, and should not be apprized in Hadnutt's estate.)

From "Cavaliers and Pioneers" a Pamphlet that is a Supplement to Northern Neck Land Grants #1, 1690-1692, as abstracted by Nell Marion Nugent
On page 10 - under Northern Neck Book No. 1 by Philip Ludwell Agent for Lord Fairfax (pp 110-150)
Page 144: Rice Williams, of Westmoreland Co., Washington Parish, 107 acs. In sd. County and parish. Mar 21 1691/2. Adjoining Jno. Wright, Robt Housen, Dec'd., & Henry Ashwell; formerly in possession of Jos. Hadnutt & one Sympson, joint tenants, both dec'd without heirs.

My research interest is Rice Williams. The above references indicate a John Symson/Sympson and this may help someone who is researching Simpson.
