Mathew Taaffe (various spellings) arrived in the Port of Philadelphia in July 1850 from County Meath onboard the ship Clara Wheeler.
His name is sometimes recorded as Markoe. He died after 1860 and before 1870.
His wife was Julia. He had at least two children, Catherine Brown Taaffe and Anna Taaffe. Cahterine married Matthew Stringer and lived in Philadelphia.
I have no further record of Mathew Taaffe. If anyone can provide more data, I would be grateful.
