My G.Grandmother was Mary Taaffe, she came from Ireland via the workhouse in Jervis st. Dublin. She arrived in Australia 7th June 1849 with her sister Eliza. She married Samuel Dunn, aka Knowles (escaped convict) born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire UK.They had 14 children. Mary also had a brother Joseph who came to Australia, married Esther O'Halloran and had 7 children. There are a few Taaffe families here in Aust. Maybe some of them are related to you.
