Peter Taaffe (Taffe), Jr b.Hampshire County
(later known as Hardy county) VA about 1959.
He grew up with his half brother William
Warden & half sister Elizabeth Warden...later
Elizabeth and Peter Taaffe had twin sons.
Peter Taaffe served in Revolutionary War in
an incident in Washington county VA in 1785.
Peter married in about 1786...& moved to
Loudon county VA.pre 1790 Peter migrated to
area known as Dumplin Creek near Dandridge
and settled in area now known as JeffersonCo
TN...there is record on court appearances in
1797 & 1798. This marriage yields 4 children:
1-John b.Aprin 3, 1788 in Laundon County VA
2-PeterIII b.1790 in Jefferson county TN
3-George W. b.1791 in Jefferson county TN
4-Martha Elizabeth b.1796 in Jeff.co TN
Peter Jr's wife died between 1796 and 1807.
PeterII in 1807 married Mary Jinens in Jeff.
co.TN. these two bore 6 children:
5-Mary b.1808 Jefferson county TN
6-James b.1814 Jefferson county TN
7-Solomon b.1815 Jefferson county TN
8-Mahala b.May 1, 1816 Jeff.co.TN
9-Minerva b.1820 Jefferson county TN
10-Malinda J. b. May 4, 1822 McMinn countyTN
