Thought that people would like to know that while there's possibly a lot of romantic 'enhancement' regarding Mary Josephine's Taaffe Family History, there are also factual details which are very true. I knew that Old Count Taaffe's son, Count 'Yeksi' Taaffe. They were Smarmore Castle (County Louth) Taaffes, and cousins to the Roscommon Taaffes. Yeksi died in the mid 1960s. His cousin Randal lived at Smarmore Castle, and died in the 1970s. Randal's only child, a daughter, had already emigrated to Canada and was married there. Not sure what part of Canada. I'm in touch with Randal's niece and hope to visit to view old family photos etc soon...
