I'm a Tabar, and my family lived in Israel also. Some of them still do, particularly in Nazareth, Jaffa, and Haifa. I went to Israel last year and met some Tabar cousins. In order to answer your question, Tabar is solidly not Jewish, but rather Palestinian. Palestian arab, that is. Tabar is an arab Christian name, which probably explains why your family was in Spain (the arabs invaded Spain a few centuries ago and some migrated there peacefully).
