I have Tabar names in my family also from Banat region of Romania near the western border of Hungary. In my own case I think the Banat Tabars are (at least from the turn of the century and maybe a generation or so earlier) Roman Catholic in faith, from the few Tabar marriages I've seen so far...Tho the Jewish origins of the name give one pause to reflect...after all, ALL Christians have Jewish faith roots...
