Tabb Family Homes,Gloucester&Mathews Co.

Some information on some of the old family homes in VA (in case anyone wants to see them). Reference is "Old Virginia Houses" by Emmie Ferguson Farrar.
"Newstead" is a home on the North River close to Toddsbury. Built in 19th century by John H. Tabb. Tabb home for almost a century.
"Waverly" on the North River "above Newstead". Built abt 1800 by Capt Philip Tabb of Toddsbury for his son Philip Edward Tabb. Capt Tabb was a blockade runner during War of 1812.
"Auburn" on North River in Mathews Co. built in 1800's by Capt Philip Tabb for his son Dr. Henry Wythe Tabb (1-12-1791 to 1863).
"Elmington" bought before 1840 by John Tabb for son John Prosser Tabb amd wife Rebecca Lloyd. On North River in Gloucester Co. Sold during the Civil War.
