Tabbs, Todds, Humphrey Tabb, etc

There was a book written by my uncle Max Tabb Tidmore published in 1987, Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 87-81918. The book is called Kinfolks & Ancestors, (Tabb & Tidmore Families), and contains some mention of Humphrey Tabb, son of John and grandson of William Tabb being christened on September 17, 1609. It does mention Joanna, and mentiones Anne as perhaps being Joanna's nickname, however there is no more mention of Joanna.

My grandmother was a Tabb (fathers mother). When I was born, I was given her maiden name as my first name, as my brother was given the maidnen name of my mothers mother which was Todd. Apparently the city of Tabb in VA was very close to the city of Todd in VA, and the Tabbs and the Todds we intermingled prior to the Civil War. Anyway the city of Todd was swallowed by the military post, and the city of Tabb is still there.

I am trying to find more information on the Tabbs, general info from some other lines than the John Banister Line...

Anyway, with a first name like Tabb no one ever spells it right or gets it right... so it is extreemly gratifying to me to find some others.

Tabb Tidmore
