The christening records state that these sons were born and that they were sons of William, but they do NOT state that they were sons of this same William. Taberers were pretty plentiful around Derbyshire and it's awfully easy to confuse them. However, in this case, I suspect that both of those boys died in infancy, for the one mentioned in William's will was born (christened)17 Dec 1636, and he died, leaving a will, in Virginia in 1654. I rather wonder about that death, though. I found it only in a book on Virginia Tidewater Families. If this is the right person, then he was only 18 when he died. Also, somewhere in my files and not yet typed into my database, I have a record of John having entered Cambridge and having stayed on to get a master's degree there. This would contradict his having died in Virginia, I think.

OOPS!! I just looked over my data on William Taberer's family, and found that his daughter Sarah, born 1634, died in 1638. I looked when I realized she was not mentioned in the will! So, your Sarah is not the sister of Thomas, nor daughter of William of Derbyshire. Those things always hurt, don't they?
