AUSTIN COMSTOCK TALLMAN was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, June 5, l856 and died at Bozeman, Montana, November l3, l9l8, his age being 62 years, five months and eight days. He moved with his parents to Clarke County, Iowa, in l869, and remained there until the spring of l9l2, when he moved to Bozeman, Montana.

In l883 he was united in marriage to MISS FLORENCE TABLER. To this union was born one daughter, PEARL MAY. His wife died July ll, l890. He was again united in marriage in l893 to MISS EVA LITS, of Clarke County, Iowa. To this union were born two sons, AUSTIN CLAUDE and EVERETT.

He became a member of the M.W.A. in l90l, of which he has been a member ever since. His death was unexpected though for a time had suffered poor health.

Those who remain to mourn his death are his wife, his daughter, PEARL, who is at present one of the assistant instructors in the normal school at Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sons, AUSTIN CLAUDE, who is now at Camp Dodge, and EVERETT, of Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, W.B. of Osceola and DR. GEO. TALLMAN, of Van Wert, Iowa; three sisters, MRS. IDA CHANEY, of Centerville, Ia.; MRS. F.J. HEIDT, of Des Moines, Ia.; and MRS. HENRY BARR, of Van Wert, Iowa; and a large circle of acquaintances and friends.

In l895 he and his wife made a profession of Christianity and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Weldon, Iowa. He was a kind, loving husband and father. He was given to deeds of kindness and was a friend to all, especially to those in trouble.
