You're the folks with whom I need to discuss Taceys in Essexville, MI. My grandfather's oldest sister, Catherine Van den Heurk married Prosper (Jr.)Tacey. From an 1870 census, it appears that after the Van den Heurks (listed on the census as Veninhart) immigrated to America, their neighboring farm family was the Taceys.

Catherine and Prosper had the following children (may be others): Henry, Elizabeth, Prosper, Joseph, Harvey, August, and Francis. On the 1900 census, I note that Catherine's parents have moved back to the Bay City/Essexville/Hampton area and are living with Catherine and Prosper (Jr.). After a lot of searching, I have located pictures of my grandfather and one of his brothers. I am in hopes that some descendent of Catherine's will have a photo and other information about her. I can be e-mailed at tandyshields@hotmail.com
