From "Dutch Families of Old Kingston, Ulster County, New York" by George R. Griffiths 1995

TAK/TACK - This is a less common surname which still persists after more than 300 years from early New Amsterdam. Aart Pietersen Tack appeared early in HOES in the baptisms, his marriage undoubtedly preceding the 1660 starting date of the records.

Aart Pietersen Tack married Annetje Adriaensen, names as mother in the first baptism. Annetje was deserted by her husband according to the records of her marriage on 11 Jan 1665 to Jacob Jansen. YBHS (1897, p, 129) says he disappeared in 1664. However, by 1662 Aart Pietersen Tack was apparently married to Grietjen Vooght.

Aart Pietersen and Annatje had one known child Cornelis Tack.

Aart Pietersen Tack and Grietjen Vooght had 2 know children, Grietjen Tack and Lysbeth Tack
