I am a descendant of Francois Tack and Maria Van Houte through their 4th daughter, Suzanna. I have a copy of their immigration permit to travel from Zeeland province to "Nord Amerika", which was signed by the Burgemeester (mayor?)on 29 April 1852. The family members were: Francois Tack, wife Maria Van Houte(maiden name),daughters Cathalientje Tack, Maria Tack, Janneke Tack, Suzanna Tack, and Paulina Tack, also Maria's mother, Cathalientje VanderMarkt (maiden name). I find most of them 8 years later in the 1860 Census for Wayne County, NY. All the first names had been converted to their English/American equivalents. Francis Tack 50, Mary Tack 53, Jeannette Tack 17, Susan Tack 12, Polly Tack 9, and Caroline VanderMarkt 76. Apparently the 2 oldest daughters were married prior to 1860. I have several names of Francois' and Maria's ancestors, if you are still interested, however, the information was just handed down through the family in handwritten notes, and I'm afraid I don't have documentation. I'd be happy to share the probable suspects. Luise
