I was just digging around here and I might be able to help. My own ancestor (Ignace Lafesse/LaFaix/LaFex) married Ellen Taillon in about 1840 and I'm trying to find her parentage.
I just came across a census for Canada posted on this site and verified the information. It's the 1851 census but it was actually taken in 1852. The transcription is in Charlottenburg, Glengarry Co., of all the Taillons there. Note that the ages are the age they will turn on their next birthday, being late 1852 (censuses were usually done in about June) or in early 1853. Since Mary Ann wasn't born until Aug of 1852, she may not appear. Here are the Frank/Francis Tyo/Taillons in the area in 1852....jsut note, if you check the actual census on automated genealogy, the page number shown here seems to be out one page....if you go by the one in brackets shown in the actual census...
