The Daigle line is my direct line.

Descendants of Marie Anne Taillon

Generation No. 1

       1. Marie Anne4 Taillon (Joseph Michel Dit3, Guillaume Michel Dit2, Oliver Michel Dit1) was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and died October 04, 1846 in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She married lll Etienne Daigle 1777 in Fort St. Louis, Missouri., son of Etienne Daigle and Angelique LaPrade. He was born August 08, 1752 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, and died December 14, 1796 in Church Point, Acadia Parish, Louisiana.

Notes for lll Etienne Daigle:

Came to Opelousas about 1800 to be near Jacques Roman.(his Aunt Marie) Jacques and Aunt Marie's son was Governor of Louisiana (Andre Bienvnu Roman, 1831-1835). Source of info from Norma Jean Crochet

Children of Marie Taillon and Etienne Daigle are:

Notes for Etienne Daigle IV:
Etienne Daigle lV from The Surname Book of Southwestern Louisiana. Etienne Daigle lV (m, 1803 Marie Doucet) and Joseph (his brother)(m. Pelagie Doucet) acquird land along the west bank of Bayou Plaquemine Brulee near present Church Point in what is now Acadia Parish, whereas Alexandre (his brother)(m. 1818 Elosie Thibodoeaux) apparently settled far the north in St. Landry Parish, Eugene (another brother) who died in 1817 at 26, had no offspring. For nearly a century the Church Point district remained the center of the Daigle family in southwest Louisiana, although before the Civil War some members had moved to the Teche near Breaux Bridge and Lafayette. Attracted by possibilities in large-scale rice farming, several Church Point Daigles began to migrate to ares around Iota, Crowley, and Jennings in the 1800s. During the present century movement of their descendants has continued into Calcasieu Parish and southeastern Texas.
