Dear Taintor Family Researchers,

I am looking for descendants and any other extended information on the following family group. If you can help, please respond at your earliest convenience.

Many thanks in advance,

Richard

Mary Duryee Jewett, born 11 July 1841, baptized 5 November 1841, buried with her parents and husband in the Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Long Island on 11 December 1924. From the above accounts of the murder of her father and from the 1880 and 1900 census abstracts, we learn that MaryDuryee Jewett had married CHARLES TAINTOR, born circa 1839, of a Connecticut-born father and Massachusetts-born mother, buried in Green-Wood Cemetery with his wife and parents-in-law, interred 24 April 1887.

The cited censuses indicate that Mary Duryee JEWETT and Charles TAINTOR had at least children George J. Taintor, born circa 1867, buried at Greenwood Cemetery with his parents and grandparents on 8 March 1893; Mary Taintor, born September 1868, date of death not yet ascertained, married W. H. Busk [?Bush], born October 1867, date of death not yet ascertained, about whom nothing further; and son: Henry S. Taintor, born December 1872, unmarried in 1900; Cornelius Taintor, born August 1875, unmarried in 1900, buried with his parents and grandparents in Greenwood Cemetery on 19 May 1922; Charles West Taintor, born January 1881 (sic, age given as 5 months old in the 1880 census), single, middle name given as West in the on-line Greenwood Cemetery records, where he was buried with his parents and grandparents on 23 November 1911, his death notice appears in the 23 November 1911 edition of the New York Times; and [?P]. N. Taintor born August 1884.
