No, I was not aware of this passage or any other references to Tainter/Taintor/Tayntor anywhere else.
So, it seems my father might have been correct. His mother was Madge Louise Tainter, daughter of Daniel Augustus Tainter. I have our line posted. I have been searching for the descendants of the Benjamin & Hannah (Norton) Tainter family of Batavia, NY.
Thank you for the inf. I feel I have seen almost all the Tainter's & various spellings thereof, that have been posted online. Starr Taintor is even in my mother's Denison history.
I check this board every once in awhile to see if anyone is searching for history prior to 1846. It seems many do not know of the Charles M. Taintor book. The last letter in the book is about my family, who went West to Genesee County, NY & to MI (Daniel, Sr. died in March 1847, in MI.) I am thankful that Erving Taintor wrote that letter & it was included in the book.
