Hi Ron,

I did find the Rose family book & source regarding the meaning of Taintorer. Thank you.

But, I also found this on a site of Scottish clans:

http://www.urquhart.org/

Do you suppose this is a quote of Charles M. Taintor? I can't find the first name of this Taintor or this quote in the Charles M. Taintor book of 1847.

"There is something extremely narrow-minded and ungrateful in us of the present generation who feel no interest in the lives and acts of our ancestors, through whose agency all of our high and invaluable rights and privileges were compassed and established." -- Taintor.
