Dear Marilyn,

Thanks again!

I did find the widow Mary Taitor, aged 75, and two of her sons living on Staten Island during the 1920 Federal census. This provided me with the first name of son "P. N. Taintor" as Philip N. Taintor. While I have no proof whatsoever, and just between you and me, I can't be far from wrong to think that maybe Philip N. Taintor was full-named Philip Nowell Taintor. His brother Cornelius Duryee Taintor was also living with his mother. Neither son had married at that point (1920 US census for the 3rd Ward, Richmond, Richmond County, New York: Microfilm series T625; Roll 1239, page 50.)

The death notice for Charles West Taintor can be found in the New York Times, page 11: Taintor–On Monday, Nov. 20, at his home, Port Richmond, S. I., Charles West Taintor in the 31st year of his age. Funeral services at his late residence at Port Richmond on Tuesday, Nov. 23, on arrival of boat leaving New York at 10 o'clock. Interment private.

Yours,

Richard
