~am related to the Archbishop Archibald Campbell Tait and he was associated with the house of a Judge "Campbell" whose middle name he bears ... not sure if Tait's really had a "coat of arms" for they were border families and instead of Clans were Kins - i.e.: Kinsmen not Clansmen ... they associted with clans like the Campbell's who helped them for Archbishop's father Craufurd [Crawford] had great holdings in farm land from his father John Tait and through poor agricultural endeavors lost the families wealth such that when Archibald -the ninth (9th) child was born in 1811 the family needed help and went to the house of Campbell in Edinburgh, Scotland...I have had some North Dakota Relatives that sent a "Wolf's Head" profile and said it was 'part of the Tait Crest' ... have not explored that and felt that because of the "border Scots" being Kinsmen instead of Clansmen they associated with the Clans they received assistance or 'cover financially' ...
