W. T. TALLY
W. T. TALLY, well known citizen of Joy community, died at his farm home 2 ½ miles west of Joy last Sunday. He was found dead in a lot near the home, from a heart attack. He is survived by the widow, MRS. CORA TALLY, two sons, JOHN of Decatur and BILL of Joy; five daughters, MRS. J. E. HOWARD and MRS. GEORGE BLACKBURN of Plainview, MRS. HUGH MABRY of Quanah, MS. W. W. JONES and MISS LORENE TALLY of Joy. Another son HOMER died his 1925. There are 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday by Rev. R. TINSLEY and Rev. BOYD DEVORE of Bellevue and Rev. PATTERSON of Joy. A quartet of REDFORD DEARING, S. FULGHAM, MISS VELMA COZART and ALBERT KIMBROUGH sang selected songs. Pall bearers were J. E. HOWARD, DAN BLACKBURN, HUGH MABRY, W. W. JONES, VIRGIL WATKINS and BERT HOPKINS. Four were sons-in-laws and one grandson-in-law.
Mr. Tally was a native Texan, 67 years of age, born in Parker County and had lived for 24 years at Joy where he was engaged in the cattle business. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
