Brenda,
Herbert Tapley was my uncle he was born in Brooksville, Me. He lived most of his life in Brooklin Me. Has Children in that area. Traced back to Edward Tapley then to Simeon Tapley who had 8 sons. Brooksville, Me. This branch is traced back to two Tapley Brothers who landed in Salem, Mass around 1658. A branch of this family was also married to a Prescot who was a Witch in Salem and tried there. Her name was Rebecca Nurse.(spelling?) One of the brothers and his decendents stayed in Salem Town currenly Danvers, Mass. Mine moved to the Isles of Shoales, off the New Hampshire coast. then to Kittery Point, Me then Saco, Me then to Brooksville where they stayed for many years. Many Tapleys can be traced to this branch.
