Hello Helen,
I missed this post until now.
I have the Certificate of Death for Francis B. Tapely,
born June 10, 1878, death Oct 23, 1930. It lists his place of birth as Brantford, Ont. His residence as Valemont, B.C. He is occupation is listed as a farmer. He is listed as married, but no name is input. Father's name Francis Tapley. Maiden name of mother Fanny Ward. Cause of death: Bantis Disease. He died in the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, B.C.
My grandmother's Register of births is a little difficult to read as it is in cursive, but:
Mary Mackay is born 11 November 1884.
Father is John Mackay and Annie Mackay, married in November of 1845. Donald Macdonald signed the birth registration as a witness.
She was born in Callanish, Scotland, District of Carloway and county of Ross & Cromarty.

a famous place for many travelers.
My grandmother actually went back to Scotland in 1945 and lived first in Glasgow and later in Hamilton. There's a stamp with Liverpool on it dated 18 Dec 1946. I recall her living in Surrey BC the rest of the time until her death.
