Christine: This is a long shot. Are you sure of the Yeast name? My ancestor, Thomas Estes migrated from NC to Walla Walla Washington in 1860's. One of his daughters, Susan Abigail Estes and her husband Robert Tarter also went and settled in Oregon. She died 19 June 1886 in Airlie, Polk Co Oregon. Could the name Yeast be confused with Estes? Just a thought.
