Do you have any info on Grover Cleveland tarter or (darter) born 7/2/1886 d. 06/19/1956. He was my grandfater which I never met. He died in Missouri. I think he was born in praire cty AR. Oscar Darter has him the son of James Knox polk Darter. I do not think that is right but if it is he not listed as a child. Grovers Sister was Effie K Bullard b in the same place I assume. DOB 02/25/1892. She died in California, Los Angeles a few years back. I found that much and I know she had a son Named Boys Bullard that did not marry.
According to Oscar Darter James K.P.Darter had 5 wives. I can only find one listed. As I mentioned in another note I remember Lou Courtney Windley which according to Oscar Darter is the fifth wife (d.12/20/1954). She is listed in the book as James KP's last wife and father of effie, Grover, Arbon Lloyd, Ernest Jefferson, Oscar J., Robert Earl, Mell Eugenia, John M. Darthulia Jane, Opal, Elmore, Zych Zechariah. Most of those children I met when I was 5 or 6 years old. I remember Lou Courtney Windley but can not even find her in the records. I was at her home in DeValls Arkansas several times. I am doubting that James K.P.Darter was her husband.
Any light would be appreciated. Oh how I wish Mother had answered Oscar Darter or my grandmother or my Aunt could have answered but did not. I even remember his letter requesting data.
Norman D. Tarter
