Jacob Tarter, 1795-1869?, Pulaski Co. KY

Seeking death date information for Jacob Tarter of Pulaski Co., KY:

He was born in Wythe Co., VA in 1795, the son of John Tarter. Came to Pulaski Co. and married Martha "Polly" Weddle. They were the parents of 9 children. Martha died between 1850 and 1860.

Around 1869, Jacob fathered an additional child. It is not clear whether he and the mother, Mariah Warner (Warrener), were married. I have not found a marriage record, but in later census records she is called Mariah Tarter. The daughter's name was Victoria.

Jacob does not appear in the 1870 Pulaski Co. census. I assume he died, because Mariah and her daughter moved in with Joel Warner (Warrener), Mariah's father.

The question is, what happened to Jacob Tarter?
