just a sidenote. While I am not aware of the historical area names in SW VA, most seem to be in continous use, I do know of a Pulaski, Va. In fact there is a Pulaski County north of Whythe Cnty in the New River Valley. Dublin, Va is in Pulaski County. Even if the reference in the Darter-Tarter book is before the county was former it was probably an area known by that name well before then and is fairly close to Wytheville atleast by modern standards. Would would not jumo to the conclusion that Pulaski, KY and VA are refernces to the same place.
