I have the year of birth for John Tarter (Johann Peter) as 1763, which would have made Balzer(Johann Balthser) 13 years of age at his (John's) birth, which certainly is possible, though not probable, since I have Virginia Magdalena Wampler Tarter as being born in 1742, 8 years his senior. Is it possible that Virginia Magdalena Wampler Tarter is Johann (John) Peter Tarter's mother (she would have been 21 at the time of his birth), and married Balzer as a widow???? They weren't married until Balzer was around 18 years of age, she was 26!!! Either Balzer may have adopted John, or perhaps she was the widow of another Tarter.
