Which Laubach, Germany

My mother is Vinnie Tarter, and we are descended from Johann Anton Doetter Tarter.

There are ten (10) locations in Germany with the name Laubach, and I am trying to determine which one is the birthplace of Johann Anton Doetter Tarter, born about 1700, Laubach, Germany.

Most web sites refer to one of the following:
•       Laubach, Hessen, Germany, located about 60 miles northeast of Frankfurt , near Giessen, Germany

References found on various web sites:
Laubach, Giessen
Laubach, Hesse (Hessen)
Laubach, Oberhessen

•       Laubach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located about 120 miles northwest of Frankfurt, along the Mosel River, near Cochem, east of Koblenz.

References found on various web sites:
Laubach, Pflaz
Rhineland Palatinate
Hirschlanden, Franconia

I also found the following information in various web sites that either clarifies or clouds the above:

1.       His father or grandfather, Karl von Dorth, born about 1700 or 1720, in Dorth, Hunnsbruck, Germany, which today is probably Dörth, Rhein Hunsrück-Kreis district of Rhineland-Palatinate today. This reference would mean Laubach, Rhineland-Palatinate.
2.       His father, Mattheis Doetter Tarter, born about 1680, in Hirschland Franconia, which is probably today is probably Hirschlanden, Baden-Wurttemberg, near Stuttgart.
3.       His wife, Anna Maria Elizabeth Kurtz (Jurtz), born about 1725 or 1724, at Katholisch Biberach, Neckarkreis, Germany, which today is probably Biberach, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, located west of Frankfurt, and south of Stuttgart. This reference could mean either of the Laubach’s, as Biberach is about 300 miles from both Laubachs.

Does anyone have information that clarifies or confuses this issue even more? I have visited both Laubachs while traveling in Germany, but have not researched any local records. Looking through local government and church records, written in German and German script, can be a daunting task, and before I do that, I would like to determine which Laubach was the birthplace of Johann Anton Doetter Tarter.
