I am looking for information about my mother’s father’s family. Grandpa's name was William (Willie) Augustus Tarter (8/18/1882 – 8/15/1957). At some point in time, he changed the spelling to Tartar. Grandpa's first wife was Bessie Brantly; they had a son Dewey. After Bessie died, Grandpa married my grandmother, Ethel Verna Reid Lain Tartar. Grandpa was born in Union County,Tennessee, but his family moved to Illinois - we believe the Bloomington area. Grandpa and Grandma later moved to Kokomo, Indiana.
The following is a list of my grandfather’s family, as we know it to be.
