BURKE CO., NC-familes-TEAGUE/BARNES/TERRELL
Please help me find the parents of my great-grandfather, Henry Terrell, born 1823. According to census, he was born somewhere in Indiana. However, all the families surrounding him were born in North Carolina, including his wife Rachel Johnson who was born in 1823 in Burke Co., NC.
Rachel's mother was Sarah Barnes, and her mother was Luranna TEAGUE.She was a daughter of Rev. Edward Teague and Lurannah van Swearingen. Much of this 'clan' were living close to each other in the 1810 and 1820 census of Burke Co.However, most later moved into Indiana, and were there by the 1830's.
In the 1820 census of Burke Co., there also was a SOLOMON TERRELL listed. I wonder if he was closely related to Henry.
I am curious as to who SOLOMON TERRELL TEAGUE, mentioned on this GENFORUM,descended from, as it appears to me he could have been closely related to the elder Solomon.
In my mother's (Terrell) family, the oldsters all insisted that Solomon was either the father or grandfather of 'my' Henry, and Henry and Rachel did name their first child Solomon.
Any clues at all would really be appreciated......
