In the 1871 Census of Canada (Caledonia, Queens, Nova Scotia)...your Harry is listed as "Henry".He may have been a Henry, who took the nickname Harry and then it stuck.

I found an online obit. for Harold C. Telfer's wife Hilda. It is from 2008, in Salem, New Hampshire.It gives a child and grandchildren.

Hilda W. (Wentworth) Telfer
Hilda W. (Wentworth) Telfer, 104, of Salem, died peacefully at the Warde Health Center in Windham.
She was born in Eastport, Maine, where she grew up and attended school.She later graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.She was a resident of Salem for the past 76 years, formerly of Boston and Medford, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Telfer was a self-employed bookkeeper.She was a charter member of the Salem Women’s Club and charter member of the Salem Garden Club.Telfer Circle and Hilda Place in Salem were named after her and her late husband Harold Telfer.She just recently received the Boston Post Cane Award for the oldest resident in Salem.
Hilda was the matriarch of her family and was always there with love and care for them.
She is survived by her daughter, Lois Watjen of Thomaston, Maine; five grandchildren, Patrick Boylan of Windham, Audrey LaRoche of Salem, Peter Boylan of Candia, Paula Mills of Thomaston, and Dana Boylan of Salem; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 16 at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home in Salem.Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.Hilda’s family would like to extend a thank you to the Warde Health Center for all their love and care they gave to Hilda.Memorial contributions may be made to the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087.
