Researching William P. Telford, bn 1835+/-, place unknown,
A letter was sent to Max Telford, Oregon in 1918 (Max was born in Hawick, Scotland in 1853)from his cousin W.P. Telford, living in Owen Sound, Ontario in 1915.Any information on the following names will be greatly appreciated.
Date June 15, 1918
Dear Cousin Max, I'm age 82 and still working at Grey & Bruce Loan Company, Owen Sound Ontario.I'm in the best of health and feel good.
Willian"s wife died about March 1918, also his sister is deceased (she was married to Mr. Ross).
William P. Telford may have been a school teacher at Aiman School. He stated that, "70 of my Aiman students are now dead".
He has 3 sons, the younger one was working in Ottowa.
He has 6 nephews in the WWI, (Army and Navy) some have died in the WWI, one of the nephews name is James E. Telford, please write to him at: C.R.G.B Battery, Witley Camp, Surry England.
His sister's son R.R. Harkness (seaman) R.N.V.R., H.M. 7 Hermia, Grunsley, England.
This letter is our only connection with our Candian Telfor family.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
