DNA Match in Ten Broeck Family
DNA
On 5 May 2013, I received the following email from Mike McGee. Hello. I'm Mike McGee, and ancestory.com found a common relative between you and I. We are related through Margrietje Vanderveer, my 7th great-grandmother. Pleased to meet you! - Mike
As hard as I tried, I could not locate this person listed in my database, I was not able to do so. I reviewed the information in the Ancestry.com family finder and found that Femmetje Isabella Bergen was in fact the 7th great grandmother we shared in common. I contacted Mike McGee and confirmed that as being the correct information. He had mistyped from a prior message. Femmetje Isabella Bergen is the 2nd Great Grandmother of Peter Ten Broeck. There is no other connection between the two.
I believe that the Family History is in fact correct in this case; Peter Ten Broeck is in fact the father of Mary Jane "Mollie" Ten Broeck. Can I use this to qualify for the Holland Society? I seriously doubt they would accept this connection. But I feel confident that we have a solid connection in that family line.
