Seeking information regarding the ancestors and descendants of Francisco D. Teran. What little information I have is as follows:

According to a small article in the Fernandina Express, dated May 21, 1881, the Estate of Sam. Russel, Sr. "Notice of Application for Letters of Administration. Notice is hereby given that six weeks after date, I will apply to Hon. H. Baker, County Judge in and for Nassau County, for Letters of Administration on the Estate of Sam. Russel, Sr., deceased, late of said county."
/s/ Martin Whittmore

Florida Land Grants Volume I shows the following information: Samuel Russell (of Duval) Claim 350 Acres. 150 Cross Swamp, 2 miles from Old Township 150 N. Side Nassau River 2 miles below John Christopher's plantation called St. Marie. Samuel Russell Sr. family wife, 6 children and 4 slaves.

From Reports of Mounted Militia St. Marys River Area, June 6, 1793 - First Company of Mounted Militia shows a Samuel Russell, married, lives with Jorge Aron. Note there is also a Lt. Jorge Arons, married, little St. Marys on the same list. Perhaps Samuel was living with that family.

Spanish Land Grants in Nassau County. In 1941, the Works Projects Administration authorized a compilation and translation of the Spanish Land Grants in Florida. Lynn James recently arranged for the rebinding of Volume V belonging to the Fort Caroline Family History Center. Before returning this volume, the editor was allowed to extract information pertaining to Nassau County. The records are rich with information for persons other than the claimant. If you find your ancestor please refer to the original volume. You might even want to obtain a copy of the microfilm of the records from the Florida Archives. "Claim Y-2 for Francis D. Teran. Claim for 300 hundred acres on Amelia Island. Samuel Russell, Jr. and Mary Russell, his wife, (Mary Russell is the daughter of Francis Teran) sell land on Amelia Island to Remi Brunnell of St. Marys, Georgia. The land is bounded by Robert Atkinson and Mr. Ponce. Witnesses: G. A. Cox and William F. Kelly, Judge of Nassau County."
