Jack:
My great-grandfather, Thomas A. Terhune wrote that Albert Albertsen, father of Albert Albert'se (Thomas's spellings) 1619-1685, our immigrant ancestor, was born in Huynen, Gilderland, ND, not Paris. The book "A Terhune Family History and Genealogy", by Chas. Terhune Duncan, refers to "family legend" that our ancestors lived in Holland for three generations, preceded by many generations in France, and that all within memory had been ribbon-weavers.I remember picking up an Albert Payson Terhune biography when I was quite young, in about 1975, which referred to A.P.T's French Huguenot ancestry of the Provence region of France.Another source, I recall dimly (- now that I'm older I'm going to hold onto my sources! -) said that an ancestor learned the family trade in Paris.I plan to pursue these factoids.
Please may I ask the specific source of your info on Albert (Albertsen?) and his father William?
Many thanks for your response.
I'll get back to you if/when I unearth anything further.
