I read through many of the 200 plus messages here. Very impressive. I have been working on my family tree for some 10 months now and have gotten stuck. One of the families is Terhune. According to 1880 Hartford CT census I now know that my gg-grandfather, Walter Frank Terhune was born ~ 1854 in CT, his father was born in NJ, his mother was born in MA. He was married to Anna (Annie) Mulcahy and at that time had one child, Mary Agatha (my g-grandmother). Walter & Annie went on to have 3 more children, Agnes Ellen, Katherine Ester & Frank Walter (Walter Frank) Terhune. Verbal history down through the family has it that Annie was disowned by her family because she was Irish Catholic and married a Dutch Reformist. If anyone has any information about a son who left NJ for CT around 1850, give or take a few years, please let me know. I am requestion the marriage certificate for Walter Frank and Anna from Hartford CT this week. I know if I could just find out Walter Frank's father's name I could then connect to the rest of the Terhune family tree. Glad I found this site.
