History of New Amsterdam and the Terhunes

I have found it fascinating to tie history to the families. The history of Albert Albertesen Terhune and his family linked to the history of New Amsterdam aka New York
is a superior way to know Alberts life story.

There is a great book out called "Gotham a History of New York City to 1898" by Edwin Burrows and Mike Wallace. I have been enjoying reading with the family in the background
The connection is a delight. Many of the names are found in the geneology of the Terhunes that are in the book.

I also found an old book "Dutch Houuses and Families in northern New Jersy and Southern New York."by Rosalie Fellows Bailey and published by Dover press. First published in 1935. It includes two pictures of early Terhune homes.
