For the record, it was not my intent to suggest that Geertje Dircks and Grietje Dircks were one and the same. I do, however, appreciate the clarification. At the time, I was searching for information relating to my grandmother’s ancestor, Andries Willemszen Hoppe, married to Geertje Hendricks.
I posted a link to the map because property belonging to individuals named Dircks was so prominently identified. Again, my intent was to suggest the Albert, Sr. may have resided in Manhattan probably in the single mens houses after his stay in Rensselaerwyck (see my current entry under “Albert in Rensselaerwyck, 1638”), where he met his wife to be.
