Hi Barb,
Thanks so much for all of the information you have provided me! I like not inventing the wheel. I suppose before I started I should have been reading all of these posts to get an idea of what I was doing. I am also not proficent at seraching yet, I suppose that comes with time. I have definitely depended on to provide me with information.
I am a little confused by the names, they seem to change or are printed quite differently all the time. If Geertje was listed as the wife of a ribbon weaver and there were not very many people in the United States at that time, and probably not a lot of ribbon weavers, does it not stand to reason that her maiden name was Dircks? and if not, why not? and also who were the Denyse? I know these are very newbie questions, but since I apparently have some of the names of the children wrong I want to start my search out correctly.
