Two Bowens marry 3 Terrell sisters in GA/Grimes, TX 1850s

trying to figure out a connection between Edward Bowen(1831-1912) , son of John C. Bowen, and Thomas McCoy Bowen, s/o Christopher Clark Bowen (1789-1845). Both migrate from GA to Grimes Co. TX. Between them, they marry 3 sisters (daughters of Joel Wingfield Terrell, who also migrated from GA to Grimes). Thomas married the first sister in GA. After she died, he married the 2nd in Grimes, TX

How are Edward and Thomas Bowen connected? They are not brothers, and I'm not convinced they are 1st cousins.
