I do happen to have a little genealogy info on Josiah. His grandfather was Bryan O'Connelly, born in Limerick, Ireland. His son John was born in 1744 and immigrated to America in 1765.He married Sarah Wilson on a boat while they were crossing the Atlantic.
Their son Josiah was born in 1783 in Virgina, according to what I have in my data. I do have down that he was married three times, but I don't have much information on his wives. It is intriging that Elizabeth Terrell/Terrill was one of them; I know that my Terrell's were originally from North Carolina, but little else is known. My great-grandfather Henry probably had many siblings; I know that Margaret Elizabeth who married a Carter was his sister, so Sarah could have been an aunt. Margaret was born around 1818.
One thing for sure; your Connelly ancestors, including Josiah and his family, knew mine. They were living in the same area at the same time, including the Bryantsville area. That is where my grandfather Terrell was born in 1862.
Joseph Connelly, a son of Josiah, married Margaret McBride there in Lawrence Co. She had been scalped by Indians when she was a child, so she always wore a lace bonnet. They also lived near Bryantsville.
Incidently, buried next to Joseph Connelly in the Connelly cemetery close to Bryantsivlle, is David Elkins. He was the minister who preached the funeral of Nancy Hanks Lincoln, mother to Abraham Lincoln.
